LOVE my Samsung galaxy S5, but still haven't found a way to get into field test mode with verizon. They just flipped on the XLTE switch and wanted to see if anyone found a way to get it. Thank you!

Been with VZW for 15+ years, have no clue what you are talking about.

Mine just shows 4G up on the Notification bar.

Download the Ookla Speed Test app and you can verify if you are on 4G

I'm talking about accessing field test mode so I can see what LTE band I'm on. I want to see if I'm on band 4, that's the AWS aka XLTE

Don't quote me on this... I read in some forum that if you're in an XLTE region and have G5 or i7... you're getting the new XLTE. In other words, XLTE ready phones (like those) are supposedly automatically finding it. This, theoretically, makes more room in the LTE range for the non-capable phones out there... thus improving their speeds a bit too. Again... don't quote me on it.

I hear what you are saying, but there is no such thing available on a Verizon S5.

I searched for 'field' and also for 'test' and nothing shows up.

I do not know of anyway to actually see which mode the phone is using other than what I already said. The Notification bar will show me 1x, 2g, 3g, 4g and here in ranching country, I have seen them all in the last couple days

Most likely an app that will show that, and I have an app that shows just about everything, but it does not have that feature.

This is specifically for the Samsung phones.
