[Verizon] [SOLVED] Stuck in Recovery after CyanogenMod 10.1 Upgrade

Hi all,

I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus that I had rooted a while ago and updated to CyanogenMod 10.0 Stable (cm-10.0.0-toro.zip ). Today I got a notification that 10.1 Stable was out so I clicked on the update hoping to use the automated update process for the first time. When I did so, it prompted me to download a new google apk rom in addition to the 10.1 rom so i accepted. Once, downloaded the program had already selected the 2 ROMs and allowed me to check 2 boxes (backup existing rom and wipe cache) which i did.

Once i clicked to start the process it went into the standard install screen with the android icon and a bunch of text along with a progress bar. Everything seemed to install fine as the rom started booting, but then i got an error saying "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped." with an "Ok" button. When i click "OK" i get "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped". Clicking "OK" here just goes to the previous error and they just alternate endlessly. I tried removing the battery and booting into recovery but it just has a pointer to my power button which says "Start" which to me means click power to start whatever is selected but nothing is selected. I cant use the up/down volume buttons as arrows to select anything because there isn't anything to select. Also the screen says "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!". In the top right corner, I see "Odin mode" in red. In the bottom left, I see some device info text.

I did some research online and it seems i may need to reinstall the rom by some other means. I'm on OSX so I downloaded the latest Android SDK tools and set up my terminal path. I then plugged in the phone using USB and ran "adb devices" in terminal but it can't seem to find my phone ("List of devices attached [blank]". I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the phone while the phone is in different states (recovery/system error screen) and was not able to get it to show up in terminal but i did get the phone's hard drive to show up using "Android File Transfer".

I would appreciate any help to get my phone back to a working state. I am not too experienced with flashing ROMs or android programming but I am a Java/PHP back end developer so I have some ideas about what i might need to do.

Thanks in advance.

I actually got the same issue from moving the ROM into my GNex via just doing a file transfer since i was moving from a different ROM.

Right now I am trying to install it again after a fresh install. Hoping that it works this time otherwise i will have to go back to my last ROM.

So does you're phone not boot into fastboot (both volume buttons + power)and only into Odin mode(Only Vol-down + power)? Or can you boot into both?

Turns out the screen I thought was recovery was not correct. To get into recovery i had to hold both volume buttons and the power button down instead of just the bottom volume button and power. This allowed me to get into recovery, wipe all caches and reinstall the rom. My phone works again :)
