Anyone else getting emails and now text messages extolling the virtues of Froyo 2.2? Apparently they know that I haven't upgraded to their version of 2.2 and want me to upgrade...sorry not giving up my LFY!

    I upgraded to 2.2 before I rooted and I got that E-mail, too. It's just a mass e-mail.

I keep getting notifications to do a system update that'll allow me to download Flash 10.1 from the market and install it. I already have it installed, and I cant get the notification to go away.

My wife (D1 user) called me earlier and said she had gotten a text message about 'Android 2.2 and Flash 10.1.' I personally found it very suspicious at first and had posted about it in the Verizon forum...

Glad to hear she wasn't the only one. I, on the other, also with a D1, did not get said text message. I did manual updates for Froyo related updates and she did OTA for the big one and manual for the small one.

    Eh, whatever...

I got it today too, mine said "You have just upgraded to Android 2.2 with Flash Media Player 10.1". I am stock and forced the update two weeks ago. LOL

Someone should send them a reply: "When Gingerbread is released, you should send out that e-mail as soon as a leak is available. After all, over half your Droid 1 user base is probably rooted". ;)

Wtf. I don't know why they would send text messages, the update installation message wasn't annoying enough for them? I haven't received any emails or text messages, but maybe my mother (the account holder) has. Either way, I never trust random text messages asking me to do stuff, always delete those o_O

as if Flash Player 10 is something engaging enough on a Droid to make people upgrade who know better

I got both the email and the test - 2 weeks after the actual upgrade. Better late than never I suppose. I do like the new version. Flash is very helpful.
