ok you guys/gals, maybe someone can clarify this, i have been able to duplicate this on 2 nexi

when watching an HD Movie (need to, its a hd screen lets use it right!?)
when watching it, after say 30 seconds screen goes dim, ok brightness settings screen inactivity going to sleep after period of time, plug it in the charger so the screen stays on when device is plugged in.

no dice, after 30 seconds, the screen dims again...

im on the milestone 1 rom, my buddy is running stock with a kernel, and also having the same issue.

can anyone find a fix for this?

in developer options we both have it checked that when charging screen stays on, and there is no option for screen to never go to sleep 15 seconds-10 minutes within developer options but it doesnt seem to help.

    any suggestions to fix this?

    EDIT!

it doesnt work on youtube, or videos you record, seems to only do it to movies you download and place on your sd card

Sorry I misread your "EDIT" thought you had resolved this.

I have to ask have you tried this on another kernel? as this could be kernel specific.

I see. Well the only thing I can think is to try a different ROM kernel combo.

I have yet to watch a long movie on my phone but I think I could figure out a profile for you if you use tasker to turn off the screen timeout.

I think it is as stable as any other CM based rom currently, it shouldn't make the phone unuseable ;)

what i learned from this thread is that obviously "nexi" is the plural form of Nexus...:p

Haven't watched a movie on my Nexus yet. Curious to know if the ROM change solved your problem. One thing I can think is that many of the ROMs have similar mods/features baked in that could mean that you and your friend had different ROMs but much of the same source used for the same problem to be reproduced.
