Ok here's the deal I've been trying to decide which ROM to flash for like the last week. I'm having such a hard time deciding cause there appears to be quite a few really good choices. Here are the features I use all the time or that I would like included in a custom ROM...

    1. Facebook sync
    2. Functioning camera/video (I tried one ROM and the camera had a yellowish tint and the video camera force closed all the time)
    3. Ability to add phone and messaging to the lock screen
    4. No battery percentage in the status bar (not a deal breaker but it does annoy me)
    5. T9 dialer

Any thoughts out opinions would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

There are several that fit the bill with 1-5 you listed. Which dot-oh-03 ROM is right for you can only be answered by you trying them to see for yourself.

Off top of my head that fit your bill are (in no particular order): team kangs aokp, cna, Liquid, Gummy, and Apex

edit: a couple more Petes Bugless Beast and Redemption, but you'd have to add some mods to get the lockscreen sms, and T9 dialer iirc

Just do some research, read through the forums, read all the features, and take the plunge. Good luck!

CNA has everything you are asking for, and helps with battery life to boot.

I have been thinking about curbing out AOKP and liquid. I'll have to take a look at CNA. I finally broke down and bought titanium backup pro so I can restore apps easily. The random reboots on stock 4.0.2 are getting to be a bit much...

I have been enjoying CNA this weekend and today. Want to try a different kernel to maybe get better battery life. I love Redemption however, but as jbdan stated you will need some mods to get what you're looking for.

Try em all imho, its the only way to fly!

Ive tested most ROM's, still need to give Pete's a shot. All phones/chips are different so YMMV.

    Good luck, and cheers!

There are probably a couple of different ROM's that will fit that bill but I know Apex will. I have been running it from its start and it is flawless...I cannot find a single fault, and it's very fast and "snappy".

    I'm trying APEX right now.

Just out of curiosity and because I can't remember because it's been so long since I've been able to play around with ROM's how do I boot into ClockWork Recovery if I get stuck in a boot loop. I had the DROID X prior to this and I didn't mess around to much cause the damn thing was so temperamental...

Pull battery then re-insert. Press and hold down both volume up and down then press and hold power button all together. It will vibrate once registered

nice. I wasn't sure if it was the same as the stock recovery. Glad it is!

I think which is "best" is ultimately really subjective, but I'll add my $.02 and say that AOKP has been very, very kind to me. As I understand it, CNA is basically built off of AOKP, so I would expect them to perform similarly, but I'll take the original :)

I'm giving Apex a go today and when I get home I'm gonna check out AOKP. I ran out of time last night. The other one that seemed to look decent was Liquid.

So far Apex's battery life looks good on and I like that you can overclock within the ROM and the toggle widgets in the notification drop down...

AOKP's new Milestone build is out - downloading it now, but it looks delicious.

Another + for Apex. It is really early to tell, but many of these developers have been around awhile. Kejar, Gummy, Fab, Roman-- all awesome and all give credit to one another. You will find many similarities in these and when a feature is really awesome it often ends up in all of their ROMs. Most of the developers are happy to share as long as they get credit.

As for "the best", that's going to be a matter of opinion. I am going with Apex because it was rock solid on my Droid X and I liked the combination of stability and good battery with some of the most desired features.

Loving it! Can unlink notifications and ringers, and new battery icons are great!

I'm just biding my time until CM9 comes out for the GNex and some of the stupid crap 4.0.2 was doing was making me mad...

What do you mean by unlink notifications and ringers?

You can now make them separate. They are then no longer tied together and you can have a separate volume level for notification tone and ringer tone. Normally they're one in the same.

You can have different volumes for each, instead of the volumes being linked together. I like my ringer on max (because I rarely get calls, but when I do, they're generally important) and my notifications on about half (because they go off all the time). Ics doesn't let you change them independently, but milestone 3 AOKP has it built in.

So far it's Apex for me. I tried AOKP and the CM9 alpha based on AOKP and neither seemed to do anything Apex couldn't do.

I use Gummy, he has a lot of updates, fixes bugs and meets all your requirements. Battery life is very good. All in All a very solid ROM.

Apex has been rock solid for me. The only thing I wish it had was the ability to change the boot animation within the ROM bit that is minor and I'm not concerned about it. I'm overclocked to 1.35 and undervolt and I can get a good 10-12 with moderate usage. It's fast too!
