Will it? It could be a good thing for me? I recently shattered the screen and may be sending it to Asurion. Just want to make sure it doesn't brick the phone as well, because I'm not sending it back (if I do) for a few days.

    Thanks.

Firstly you'd need the stock recovery if you've currently got custom recovery to take the official update.

Yes it should kill your root as long as you take the official update.

I only rooted, never installed any custom OS.

Sidenote, didn't you comment on my other thread about what the X and G2? You're everywhere!

If I remember right on my s3, I had to flash a custom recovery via Odin to root. Thus meaning you'll have to flash the stock recovery to get back stock.

Yes I did! I tend to be in many places at once :D

I'm not sure exactly what is going on.

I was rooted....but kept getting the 4.3 update pushed until I couldn't refuse it anymore, so I took it.

Now, when the phone first starts up...I get the SAMSUNG screen....but there is a b/w picture of an open lock near the bottom with "custom" below that.

The phone seems to be running ok.

"root checker basic" says I do not have root access.

But using TASKER....I am able to turn GPS on with some of my profiles....which I didn't think I could do without being rooted.

    Any ideas?
