Hey everyone, I am a direct Verizon wireless employee.

Just looking over forums, Looking for somewhere to meet some new people and possibly learn a few things. But first I'd like to be able to help anyone who could possibly need help with anything related to Verizon Wireless.

Just a little insider, I'm partially responsible for leaking the HTC One. On a different forum that I am very active on, I leaked the information regarding the device's possible launch date on 07-19-2013, predicted for 8/1 due to information I found at work. :D

Now, I'm open for any questions regarding anything. Just keep in mind that I do not work in Customer Service nor tech support.

Not too worried about people who don't want to believe something.

But, Go ahead and ask me some questions that only a VZW employee would know.

Here's a question for you. I am currently on a share everything plan with my husband and daughter. My husband's phone is now out of contract, but I have another year to go and my daughter almost a year and a half (she got a new phone for Christmas).

I just switched jobs and my new company gave me a phone and really doesn't mind if I use it for personal as well as business use. So I would like to drop my line from our Share plan and save money and avoid carrying two phones. Since we have a line that is off contract, can this be done without an early term fee? My husband absolutely HAS to keep his current phone number. He uses that phone for business and he has longtime customers who call out of the blue on that number.

He isn't at all interested in a new shiny phone. He likes the ancient hunk of junk that he has. If he needs an upgrade, he can have my GNEX which is much better than the Droid Pro he seems to be so attached to. What would be the best way to drop a line while keeping his phone number?

As I'm not in Customer Service, I would recommend calling them (*611) and basically telling them what you just posted, and sell what their reply is.

I'm going to go on a limb and say that it would be fine since you have the one line that's out of contract. But, contact them and let us know what happens :)

You must not work at a Verizon store. Those people have made it clear to me that they know nothing that can be leaked.

Some store managers are close enough with their higher ups to find out things they're not supposed to know. It's not sketchy or anything, and Verizon is more than well aware of it.

Sometimes the regular salesmen are close enough with their managers to find out this kind of information. For example back in March, I was in Verizon for the first time as an actual customer, and once I mentioned phones like the HTC One, the Galaxy S4, Google Play Edition, etc, he knew I wasn't a regular customer. We got into some information that he even said "I Shouldn't be telling you this, but..."

Some of the information I got that day
Verizon would not be getting the HTC One, until at least mid-July
The Galaxy S4 would not have a Google Play edition at launch
There would be no "raw" version of the Butterfly J (which is also waterproof, unlike the DNA)
Verizon had an early upgrade program in the works (which we now know as Edge)
Verizon's current (as of March) lineup for the summer wasn't looking all that great (which we now know is very true)
Verizon's Fall/Winter lineup should be better than AT&T and Sprint by far

Ever since, whenever I go into the store him and I usually have normal conversations, then a few weeks ago he explained how he got to know this information, and why he isn't supposed to know or tell anyone etc.

In other words, not all stores are as secure with their information as others. Same thing goes for with Sprint....oh the things I could have told customers when I worked there.
