I heard that the data plan is changing on July 7th to a tiered data plan? Is this true? Does anyone know?

    Thank you!

That's what the press releases are saying: $30 for 2GB, $50 for 5 GB, and $80 for 10 GB. Fortunately, they are also saying that anyone already ON an unlimited data plan before that magic date can keep their unlimited data, even through contract renewals and phone upgrades. Time will tell, however, whether or not that will actually be the case.

I'm counting on it, because my new dream phone doesn't come out until after that date... or course

I was just on a live chat with Verizon and they didn't have any information as to the pricing if and when it would happen. I'm concerned cause 2 of our phones are on limited 150mb data plan where the 3rd one is on unlimited and hoping that our 150 mb doesn't get dropped. Could be the end of the data plan for 2 of our phones.

I think you're safe if you're on contract. They could only terminate your lower data plans at the end. Not 100% sure (hey - it's Verizon!) but if I were a betting man, I'd say that you're safe until the end of their contract. But if it's month to month... then who knows...

Well, if you're on contract you may want to bump them up to an unlimited plan in the next 2 weeks, just in case they want a smartphone or something in the future...

The link in my post above yours states it is the most recent information we have on it, and states that to be the case. Very good sign, indeed.
