This was driving me mad last night and thought I'd warn you guys all about it.
First of all, I don't know what causes it - I'm not sure if the phone is autoupdating software over the air (i don't have a PC so can't connect via Kies) but yesterday evening, I tried to send a picture message to my father. The phone tried for ages but came back with a message "Server Response Error" (the message was 124kb).
I tried to send it to someone else - same problem.
Tried to send it to myself - same problem.
Tried to send it to my email address.. and it worked.
Called T-Mobile and they spent 90 mins on the phone to me. We went through settings, reinstalled, wiped, reinstalled etc and they were completely flummoxed.
Various websites offer different solutions.. some say that you have to make sure the contacts have no characters like '+' in or spaces, just the numbers. Didn't make any difference to me.
But here's the thing - install handcent and it is fine. Or ChompSMS.
Seems there is an issue with the stock messaging client on the Samsung GS2 that sometimes kicks in.

Other bizarre behaviour - occasionally, my phone gets really hot even though it's not being excessively used (and only occasionally).
And the battery usage puts "wifi sharing" as using lots of juice - even though I'm not sharing the wifi and personal hotspot is off..
