I have just one gmail account on the phone (push) but I get 2 chimes whenever I get an email! If I look in the folders, everytime I get a new email, there's one unread in the 'inbox' folder and another one (actually the same email) in the 'All mail' folder. this is why i'm guessing that I get 2 chimes per email.
It never used to do this but I obviously messed it up!
It also seems to chime when it receives a mail into the 'Junk' folder too.

All this chiming is driving me nuts...

Oh, the email app is not the gmail one included with the phone. I think its call Advanced email or something but the name of the app is just 'Email' on screen.

If you're running a couple of different email apps, pick the one you're happiest with, and then either uninstall the rest or simply disable notifications in them - that way you'll just get one chime per email.

Actually, although I have a couple of email apps, only one is set up. The others are set not to check for email. The new email seems to go into 2 folders and chimes once from each folder.
I don't get why this is happening!
