I know it may be minor but I wish the my Captivate could edit how times the phone vibrates for calls, sms, calendar etc.......... I have my phone in my pocket ALL the time and always have it on vibrate cuz i need it that way. maybe someone will create something to edit the vibrate feature............

Calendar Notifier does this for the calendar. You can set the vibration to last for up to 5 seconds.

I used handcent for a while but it kept wigging out on me so I went over to sms popup - works fine and has options to change the vibration (length, long, short etc) along with reminders so it helps.

I had the same issue...always missed text messages due to unusually short vibration period. I have recently tried the "smart vibrator" application -- it lets you set the pattern for the vibration just like Boldt explained in the case of sms popup. You could try both these apps and see whichever suits you.
