Vibrate upon receiving texts

Hey guys,

I've had the phone for a couple weeks, and I can't figure out how to make it vibrate when I get a text message. I have been through the settings, but can't figure it out. Anyone mind helping?

For starters, are you using the stock application? Or Handcent Messaging application? I would recommend Handcent (way better than the stock app but remember to disable notifications on the stock app if you're using a second messaging application ).

Anyway, if you are using the stock app, go to your messages, click Menu, Settings, Notifications, and check off Vibrate. That enables the vibrate feature when you receive a text...

If you are using Handcent, it's pretty much the same thing... Go to Menu, Settings, check off Notifications... Then click Notification Settings, and click on Vibrate... Set it for "always."

Hope this answers your question! Also, it'll let you change your notification sounds in there.

I'm using the stock app, and I've got those things checked. I think it did work when I got it, but when I was going through the settings it stopped I think. Any clue as to why?

Hmm not for anything but you should definitely check out one of the other text apps like Handcent or Chomp SMS... They allow you to attach pic messages and automatically resize them etc. But anyway, hmm not sure why it stopped... As long as those settings are checked off it should work!! I'm sorry, wish I could help!
