    Wherever I am right now
So I see that the Eris is supposed to support MP4 format. I converted a DVD to MP4 and put it on a friends Motorola Droid and it worked great, put it on my Eris and I could see the icon but it said it could not play the video, like it was an unsupported format? I know the Droid is using Android 2.0 and the Eris is using 1.5, anyone else play MP4 movies on their Eris?

Use Videora Droid Eris Converter. It's free and works perfect.

So what is the Eris' native resolution for videos, is it 320 x 480?

Yes. 480x320. I used Format Factory to convert a few AVI's to MP4 and they play fine on my Eris.

So I installed it and it is asking for the model, but it doesn't list the Eris, it has the Dream, the G1, and I can't remember the 3rd one, which to choose for the Eris?

It's technically named the Desire. Dream/G1 almost the same thing.

Does that program allow one to change res? That's all you are really concerned with.

I have mine set to HTC Dream. And it works beautifully. You can set the quality to what you want.

There you have it. Man we need mods to close some threads and moved to a answered section after they have been answered.

I've used Handbrake to format videos for several phones like the curve, storm, iphone. Is this a solution anyone has used for the Eris?

Not yet but sure it will work. Just make sure the res is right, otherwise, no problem.

Anyone know how high the bit rate can be before the eris can't handle it?
