    Hey,

New to the DEsire, and so far i'm very happy with it :) However, i am finding it difficult to watch a video that i copied from my pc to the sd card.

I assumed it would act similary to the way music is reconised and then sat in your library waiting for playpack, but it doesn't seem to be 'auto-detecting'.

I'm assuming it's user error (Me :p), should i be copying the files to specific location on the SD Card / is there a certain app i should've installed...something other than this?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    J

Make sure the file you're putting on the device is supported first.

    Video files supported are :

    .3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .wmv

    Audio files supported are:

.aac, .amr, .ogg, .m4a, .mid, .mp3, .wav, .wma

Once you've made sure your video file is supported just make a folder called movies or something(can be anything) the drag and drop it into that folder. You'll be able to find it by navigating to the pictures app.

What format was it though, because there are apps that allow you to play .avi files, if rather crudely.

Movies downloaded from itunes (MPEG-4) cannot be played?

MPEG-4 is MP4, just abbreviated. So yeah the Desire should play it, however if the itunes vid was formatted to play on the iPhone, it won't look as good as it could on the Desire due to the iPhones lower resolution.

It won't play at all. My query was if DRM would have any effect on multi format play.
