    Hello All.

I'm not used to posting to forums, so please bear with me. I'll probably be overly detailed, to make sure you know what I'm talking about.

The bottom line is: I want to add my own notifications to settings>sound>default notification sound.

I can find that folder on my Nexus 7 using ES File Explorer in /device>system>media>audio>notifications.

I want to use my laptop to move other sounds into that folder.

When I plug my N7 into my laptop, I can't find these using file explorer. I even did a search for one of the sounds I know is on my tablet, like "vega". No search results.

I was hoping I could just drag and drop from laptop to N7. Am I just being hopeful that it could be that easy?

    What am I missing?

Thank you in advance for your help. :)

The folder you're looking for is a system folder and you can't view it on a PC unfortunately.

However using your PC, you can create a folder on the part of your N7 simply called notifications, drop the sound file in there, unmount and disconnect and that should appear in the list of default notifications.

    Welcome to AF BTW! :)

Thank you so much for the help and the warm welcome.

Before I try your suggestion, may I ask two more questions.

Where (in which folder on the N7) should I create the notification folder?

Do you know which file extensions are acceptable to use on my tablet as notification sounds?

Thank you so much. I drive myself crazy trying to figure these things out sometimes. I know Google is my friend, but just couldn't find the answers to this one.

Just the root of the N7 (the first one you see when you open it via a PC).

Not sure about the formats, I always use MP3, but I think the default sounds are .ogg files so I presume they'd work too.

Yep, Google is your friend, but there's no harm in asking if you're stuck!
