    Hi,

Is there any "Free" droid apps that can, or will work like Google Voice?

Google voice work really great for me, trouble is, my carrier is Virgin. They still charge me me the minutes for the Google voice even when I am connected, ande using the WiFi.

Is there any way to get around the cell minute charges when I'm on a WiFi network? I don't want or can't have have peeps I call have the same app on their droids?(like skype to skype) Or maybe there's another SIP program that will let me make calls to the PSTN network with no charge.

I'm sure there is a way to do it for free, but everyone wants to have thier finger in the pot (Fee's)

I wanted to do it with my Magicjack, but seems to me, nobody has figured out the new MJ security feature.

I know I'm asking for a miracle, but I don't get much voice calls on my cell, so if I can save the 15 bucks a month without expanding my Carrier plan, I would be very happy.

    Any Ideas

Thanks for thaking the time for the input friends.

Are you sure that you are being charged for Google Voice? I didn't think carriers are allowed to do that, especially over WiFi. If they are, that's just despicable.

Google Voice (by itself) doesn't work over wifi. I believe it requires a data connection the first time you call a number, but the actual call is placed using your carrier just like any other call.

Google Voice on the computer is different from Google Voice on your phone.

Google Voice for Android doesn't actually do calls.

You'll need an app called GrooveIP.

It works pretty good on WiFi once you tweak it. Make sure to use the GrooveIP dialer though.
