You can't get rid of it. I think jerry said he will get rid of it next build. I posted about this in the ROM thread.

Yeah, tdm figured out how to enable charging while powered off, and it was the same for the first bootanimation, so we enabled it as well. You can now charge your phone with the power turned off.

I plan on creating my own first bootanimation for BACKside, or I may just disable it altogether in a future build, depends on feedback. ;)

Could I use a file explorer to delete the bootimages folder?

I'm not sure if that will work, or if the initrd will recreate them, since they are packed in with kernel, not the system files. Experiment and let me know what happens. ;)

Oh, well, in that case it might or might not. I'll check a little bit later, got some doctor appointments today.

Okay, I lied. :) I just tested, and it came right back. Irritating for themers, but quite efficient from a system standpoint.

I never really used the powered off charging, even before I rooted, it always irritated me a little, bit don't get me wrong, it is a nice feature, especially for all the newcomers that prefer to charge their phone when powered off, so I say keep that feature in all future builds.
