Support Virgin Mobile(canada) S2 problem

    I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 through Virgin Mobile Canada and when I got the phone it had Android 2.3.3..so I used the Odin program to put 2.3.6 on my phone and it is working great but my phone randomly drops network connection completely and try's to reconnect on and off for anywhere between 5-30 minuets then its fine. So my question is, is this a problem with my phone from me doing the update myself or just a network issue since my wife has the Sensation 4g through virgin and doesnt have this problem at all. Thanks for the help
