Root [Virgin Mobile] Confused on returning Virgin Mobile to stock 4.3

So I got a new S5 (yay!).

I'm trying to return my old S3 to stock to give away to a friend. I'm confused by a couple of things:

1. The phone is currently stock/rooted with Phil'z Custom Recovery.
2. It appears that I need to flash the 4.3 firmware using Odin. However, I'm unable to find VM Firmware for my phone. Will this return the recovery to normal? Where can I find this effin' firmware? I've found links for Verizon, Sprint, but not VM.
3. Will flashing that via Odin fix Phil'z Custom Recovery? And then I can take the OTA update?

I haven't flashed any ROMs. Is there a faster way I could be doing this? I'm basically trying to get the phone to the point at which he can change the number on it.

You are going to want to flash the 4.4.2 stock tar file via Odin !!

Will he be good to go with regard to using the Virgin update app to change the phone number to his and whatnot?
