100% STOCK UNROOTED CWM RECOVERY BACKUP
Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 Build MD7

This is a zipped archive of a backup made with ClockworkMod Recovery.
The backup was made before the phone even booted up so this is a complete right out of the box backup of the stock rom which also means it does not contain the MobileID that Virgin Mobile likes to download at first boot. So you have a chance at cancelling that ;)
    This is unrooted.
This does not include the modem. If you need the stock modem it can be found here: http://androidforums.com/virgin-mob...849-updated-op-vm-sgs3-stock-radio-fixed.html

    INSTRUCTIONS:
Extract the contents of this zip onto your SDcard and restore with ClockworkMod Recovery. This is not a flashable zip

    DOWNLOAD:

100% STOCK UNROOTED ROM FLASHABLE ZIP
Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 BUILD MD7

This is a flashable zip of the Virgin Mobile Galaxy S3 stock ROM. This was made by punkmaxx using the above backup. The backup used to make this zip was made before the phone even booted up so this is a complete right out of the box backup of the stock rom which also means it does not contain the MobileID that Virgin Mobile likes to download at first boot.

Download the ZIP and save it to your SD card (internal or external) and install the ZIP with your custom recovery (CWM or TWRP). Enjoy a fresh bone stock rom!

Would you like this made into a "bone stock" flashable zip?

That would be pretty awesome.. and useful. :D

From what I understand, a CWM backup does not include the modem correct?

I'd be happy to get one working by tonight... Shouldn't be too hard... I'll Post a link here sometime tonight, that you can update your OP with...

    correct CWM backup only includes /system /data /cache BOOT.img and sometimes RECOVERY.img

Do you want the /data partition to be flashed as well? Or just the /system and boot.img?

Never mind, i looked at the archive and its all dalvik-cache files.... You don't want that stuff...

EDIT: Building Now.... I'll be testing it in another 15 minutes or so.....

Will there be a link for the firmware?

I'm not sure if I understand what you are asking. The links are in the first post for the flashable stock rom. There is also a link for the modem if you need that.

What are you looking for specifically? A TAR file?

Could we sticky this, or include a link to this thread in a stickied post? Maybe in the stickied root thread?

I tried flashing the modem via ODIN and got a fail due to Qualcomm secure check. Is there any way to get around this?

Right now my service is dead. If I flash this and call VM and they do an RTN reset will it work?

What would I have to do to prevent MobileID from updating or installing itself?

If it's a tar file, you will need to use Odin.

You could possibly put the phone into airplane mode to prevent the download and then root the phone and freeze or delete it.

I will go ahead and sticky this and I'll also try to add the stock recovery later tonight and detailed instructions on how to install that as well.

Can anyone please link me to a stock recovery that has been confirmed working by any of you guys? I'll add it to the op and make this a "return to stock" thread.

After I did this it still boots into ClockworkMod meaning that it is an indication that my phone is still rooted any help?
