Help [VIRGIN MOBILE] Voicemail Issues

I've had this before with Virgin Mobile phones, but the voicemail notification will not go away, and it's annoying the hell out of me. I called VM, and they reset my voicemail...which worked for all of thirty minutes.

The weird thing is, it consistently says I have three voicemails unread. Not sure why that is or if these voicemails actually exist somewhere.

I'd love it if I could just disable that voicemail service. It's so crappily designed in the first place - I mean, why in God's name would they not allow you to disable the notifications...and if not that, at least don't make it an ongoing notification so it could be swiped away. Ridiculous, but such is life.

So, anyone know a solution? Should I call them again? Is there an easy fix?

first they can turn it off completely. the other option is to go to application manager select voicemail apps and de-click the check box for notifications

You can long press the app info and force close it,but if you reboot itll show back up,youll still get your normal voicemail messages, mine does the same thing and I have the Boost version of the phone.

It only shows up after a reboot, its annoying but theres not much you can do about it. If you freeze or remove it you wont notified unless you use a third party app.

I had this issue with my evo. Nobody could fix the issue and it was a known issue. I spoke with the office of the president, network administrators, etc. Nobody could fix the issue. That's the #1 reason I left... My phone would constantly buzz and ring notifying of the 'unheard' phantom voice mail.

Ugh. That's so strange...like I said I had the same problem with my triumph and it went away.

Oh well, though...as soon as we get a good GS3 ROM I'll hopefully be able to figure it out....or I'll just lose my voicemail, like I did with CM10 on the Evo V.

I don't know if this is the same issue but a friend of mine had a voicemail notification on an old Nokia phone but his in-box was empty. He took it the phone to T-Mobile (UK) and they didn't have a clue so he brought the phone to me. What I did was to call his phone and leave him an actual voicemail then listened to the message and deleted it. The notification then went away permanently.

I've got the same problem. So far I've been on the phone with virgin mobile for probably 6 hours. Seriously probably 10 calls and still nothing. It is a problem with their system not your phone. someone at tech support deactivated my phone and activated one in their hands under my account and still got the notification. I'm still waiting to hear back again from tech support. So far they've updated my PRL numerous times, updated my profile, factory reset it numerous times, type some stuff into my dialer to reset it and I'm still having the issue. I'll come back to this thread if it gets resolved somehow.
