...and use the regular google speech to text app? Mine is defaulting to Vlingo.
Settings -> Language and Keyboard -> Multiple-touch keyboard -> Preferred dictation engine.
It really pisses me off when they add this kind of third party crap. I don't mind a couple apps that I can remove, but when they overwrite inherent functionality with this junk and don't even offer you a choice the first time you run it. And Vlingo is one of the crap apps we can't remove without root.
Do you mean on the keyboard or when holding the search button?
Is their a way to use voice without pushing the mic button in the keyboard?
Press and hold the search button. It is the last button in the row of four at that bottom of the phone.
That doesn't work. Vlingo still comes up, even after confirming that Google is selected and restarting the phone.
Make sure you download and install Google Voice Search from the market.
