I just got the first VM on my DX. Naturally, I went to the dialer and pressed the message icon (bottom left of the dialer pad) and what do I get? Not voicemail!

I basically get asked do you REALLY want to go to your FREE, included voice mail? Or wouldn't you really rather PAY to subscribe to this other thing?

Is this a permanent nag annoyance? I just want to press the button and call voicemail. Really. And I don't want to buy a service.

Thanks for the input, but that's not what I asked nor what I want.

YouMail may work for you, but I want my regular VM on the VM button.

That's set up to use the standard *86, but I still get the VVM intercept screen.

OK... never mind. Verizon tech support just informed me that the VM icon on the dialer is, in fact, NOT the VM icon, but rather the Visual VM icon. It will always ask if you want VM or VVM (even once you've subscribed, presumably).

They just beg you to root, don't they???
