Vodafone apps - rooting

I just got a Galaxy Gio and it came with some Vodafone apps on it, which I can't uninstall. On "Settings -> Applications -> All" where they show, I can't see a button to uninstall them. I already tried to do several factory reset, but the apps are always installed. Any ideas on how I can uninstall them? Thanks :)

Ok, thanks for the reply! :)

On a discussion level, I find tis very strange as normally in any OS it's possible to even uninstall apps that came from factory if you're administrator. Do you know why Android has taken this path?

Sorry for the noobish knowledge but I just started using Android. :)

Best regards

it is a basic security precaution, other important apps live in the system environment and shouldn't be played with.
