I was wondering -- what's everybody's thoughts on the voice quality on the hero? I know on my last phone it was bad, and I haven't really had a chance to test it on the sprint hero, but I was wondering if anybody could offer me their take.

    Thanks

Voice quality is fine on mine (visual voicemail is a joke though).

You should request an invite for google voice:

You can call Sprint and have it set up so you dial 1 and your phone calls gvoice.

You can change that yourself w/o sprint.

No offense guys, but let's keep this on topic for the OP.

I see that. I was thinking about some more complex call forwarding for which one would require some assistance.

Back on topic; I came to the Hero from a 'berry Curve which was an excellent phone as far as voice quality. The Hero rivals the Curve for voice quality.

Voice quality on my Hero is excellent. On my previous phone (Instinct), I frequently heard an echo on various calls. My Hero has yet to pose this problem or any other on a voice call.

I am impressed with the voice quality of the hero. I used to have the bb tour and it was horrible.

Yes, I can say I hear just fine and when I first got the HERO I asked all who I called and received favorable responses that my voice was crystal clear.

The visual Voice Mail has some issues for sure, but the original dial in voicemail is still there too for all those who don't like the visual stuff. The Visual just provides a "menu" or "list" based random access to messages with no need to listen in order, it's a nice trade off sacrificing some sound quality for the menu access to messages, just my opinion.

I think it's excellent; as good as or better than any of the BBs I've had before.

It's good, but not as loud as I would prefer.

My Hero call quality is better than my old Samsung M610 clamshell, which was ONLY a phone! And, I can easily do speakerphone while in my car and no one on the other end has complained. Now, the phone app is another story...
