Help Voice to text for whatapp is gone after Jellybean update

Hi,
has this happened to anyone after upgrading to Jeally Bean 4.1.2?

When I run Whatsapp now to chat, I no longer have the option of talk to text
I've checked the phone's settings. and in the "Language and Input" section
Google Voice typing is checked off, and the language set is English.
So the settings look correct.
But I still don't see the small microphone symbol on the keyboard in Whatsapp.
Everything was fine before the upgrade, I should have just re-flashed with ICS again

actually the voice to text might be missing for other apps as well, but I haven't used it before in any other app.
I just looked for the microphone inside the note app , and I don't see it there either
