Help Volume control changes media volume only

Had my aria for about a week now and love it. But I just tried the hands free ear piece that came with it and when I unplugged it the volume control only controlled the media volume. No media apps are running, and I can't control my ring volume. Any suggestions? Thanks

PS...any one know any apps for cool notification sounds? i've heard cool ones on the iphone, like a duck quack or a boxing bell. anything like that for us?

Are you sure no media apps were running? Android can multitask and you may have had a primary attention media program running in the background.

I will double check in the app manager, but as far as I know...no. I even used my app killer...

I have a similar problem with my Galaxy S, sometimes the volume controls media and sometimes it controls ring volume. Bloody annoying.

The Zedge app has quite a few interesting sounds...

i also have a samsung galaxy s, same issue. i can't figure out a pattern.. :/

When my Aria did that I turned it off for 20 minutes, then back on and it works fine now.
