Help VPN Client

I recently downloaded Jellybean and noticed a VPN client app on there. Could someone provide me with an overview of VPN client, its functionality, and set up. Thanks. I tried to check this out on google but there aren't really any descriptive enough articles or intuitive set ups for it. Thanks again.

Basically, you ask the VPN server administrator for the information you need to connect to the server and enter it into the app. That's how all VPN clients work.
