If not being able to make a PHONE CALL from a PHONE is considered whining, then so be it. I have called Verizon... again, and again, and again. I've also called Samsung and that's about an hour of my life that I'm not getting back. I've gone through three replacements and all of them had faulty screens so I sent them all back. And rooting and/or installing custom ROM isn't going to do me any good, unless someone specifically developed a ROM that addressed the audio reboot issues.

I bought the Galaxy Nexus because that's the phone I wanted. I didn't buy it to trade it in for a lower-end phone a few months later. That's like buying a Mustang because you wanted a Mustang but you had to trade it in for a Focus because the wheels on the Mustang keep falling off, and Ford is holding onto upgraded lug nuts even though it knows its has customers that have wheels that fall off their Mustangs (not picking on Ford; that's just the first thing that came to mind).

I want them to hurry up and release the patch because I am going with another phone if the patch doesn't fix my problem. What choice do I have? I don't pay Verizon what I do every month to surf the web or watch movies; I can do that for free on my wifi tablet.

I paid good money for this device, and it doesn't matter whether it was $30 or $300. It should work and I expect them to fix it. Period, end of story.

It's hard to say it's late when they never officially announced a planned date (to my knowledge).

However, people have been told for months by VZW customer support "it'll be out at <now>" where <now> is perpetually 1 month away. I have deja vu from the pre-release thread...

I just hope they address most of the issues people are reporting here. Can you imagine the amount of hatred towards VZW if they push this release and don't fix most/all of the widely reported issues?

I'm pretty sure the portrait to landscape delay isn't a bug, it was intended to be that way. Google chose to do this so accidental portrait to landscape would be more easily avoidable.

I ment how in alot of programs the landscape keyboard has serious lag. Not the actual switchover. Tapatalk and godaddy both come to mind for doing it.

Ive seen many times the flip doesnt happen at all and i have to close whatever is open and reopen and hope it goes into landscape (this happens alot in text messages)

All the delays from Verizon really shouldn't come as a surprise. Neither can you ever trust a CSR for insider info. At best they read the forums and can give you the latest rumors. They know nothing because they are told nothing. The update will release when Verizon thinks it's ready.

I was talking to tech support with Verizon about my problems with signal connectivity in my area for 3G and 4G and they said there was an update to the software coming May 1st, so tomorrow.

Do you guys think this is for 4.0.4 ?

Also on another note when they asked for what version of software I had and I said Android 4.0.2 they said they needed a build number instead an ICL number. Why did they ask for that instead? Just wondering.

I hope that's the case, but put me in the camp of "I'll believe it when I see it."

The only thing I can say to all this is .......LOL. No disrespect to the OP, I am having flashbacks to my Droid X days. I love the phone, and I was so excited that Verizon was getting a Nexus, but this delay in the update while the GSMs and all the other new phones getting ICS upgrades higher then 4.02 is sort of a downer. I was really hoping for a pure Google experience....to bad Big Red has to have their hands in the CDMA/LTE stuff.

Guess we will find out tomorrow!!!

They ask you this because they want to see if your on a custom rom or not. Custom roms have a different build number usually called the name of the rom. This way they can say its your fault for the bad signal and not Verizon's even no it is.

I have some wonderful beach front property I new Mexico to sell u also. The first rule is never believe the store the online chat the phone rep. There job is to blow smoke up your azz and make u feel all warm and cozy. And to answer your question no the rumor was vzw testing 4.0.5 not 4.0.4. As mentioned before its not about the os number.

Agree. Everyone here knows just as much about the update as the CSRs: absolutely nothing. No offense to them since they're just doing their job. But when they blatantly lie and say the update is coming on xxx then it's a little irritating.

    1. This phone should have NEVER been advertised as a "PURE GOOLE EXPERIENCE"
with updates fast and directly from google.

    2. Verizon should have the courtesy to their loyal consumers to loop in everybody
about the status of the updates even if there are none planned. They would gain a lot
of respect and retain my business for years to come.

The point is you can complain all you want on these forums and guess where it gets you? Nowhere.
