VZW taking orders via phone

I just ordered mine, asked for next day air for free and after a about 30 seconds of negotiations they gave it to me. Mine will be here by probably around 1 tomorrow.

Just ordered mine too...! Phone 249 with NE2, Media Docking Station 79, HDMI cable 17 with overnight for 2.


I just ordered mine for overnight delivery and got Charged $299 plus tax and shipping - Total of $336

I was not offered anything free? This was thru Verizon

Dang...the gal I talked with said that there was no way she could place an order. I asked her about the Prime and she said she will know more about that tomorrow. She was obviously confused.

I just ordered mine today, 9/7/7 @ 1:35 CST through a Verizon sales rep. Didn't get the option for the next day shipping but will get it Fri. What's another day right? I'm excited and can't wait now!

I ordered mine as well. I also added the desktop dock and she said there were two listed. One has some sort of a remote, perhaps for media capabilities. On a whim, I decided to give it a shot. She could not find the car dock in the system. They said 2 day shipping, but if it ships out of the warehouse I normally get it from and it ships today, I should have it tomorrow anyways. I'm excited either way.

Also, I just went to verizon's site to see if the order status worked and it asks for a location code for phone orders. How they heck are we supposed to know that?

Nevermind. Already got an email saying it shipped. Fedex says they already picked it up. Unfortunately, its coming across the country so it'll be here Friday. =(

I just called the store for an appt. They said they can't hold one though and I can't go in until 1:30, maybe ill try ordering again tonight.
 
Ordered mine, I have 2 upgrades available so if the prime comes out soon I can buy and compare the two. They wouldn't do any accessories though..

I called the store near me and they set one aside for me to pick it up. Though, I'll be there right as the doors open to purchase it.

I called 4 separate times and talked to 4 different reps and none of them knew or would tell me anything about a preorder.

What is the magic word?!?!?

Don't use the words pre-order, they'll ship out today (well, might be too late now), so its not really a pre-order. I just said "I would like to upgrade to the Droid Bionic", that simple.

I just ordered mine over the phone, but they wouldn't give me next day shipping. They just added the charge to my account so I don't need to pay until next month.

At first I was told the same thing - then he checked again and he was able to order it for me!

It amazes my how the phone reps are not consistent about what they tell customers (and potential customers), whether it's about support or a nice new device.

It seems a memo would have been out, etc.

So, I suppose the lesson is, keep calling and keep asking, as you did. ;)

Meh, Costco will have it tomorrow, either that or I will get it at a Verizon store, either way I will have my Bionic tomorrow ;)

I think its more likely that no memo was sent out. The rep I dealth with initially said the release date is tomorrow. I told her some websites and forum posts indicates people have been able to order it. She said they weren't told that they could but just decided to try it for me. Sure enough, it took.

So it would seem to me, its worth asking them to try putting the order through. But hopefully being later in the day, most of the reps have figured it out or heard about it by now.

Epic fail... So 12 hours after I ordered I still didn't get an email with a tracking number... So I cal to see what's up, and they got my work address wrong, they transposed two of the words, and canceled my order! Super pissed!!!! Oh well, called the store closest to work and made an appointment for 9am tomorrow, hope my boss doesn't mind me skipping out for an hour.
