Biggest thing I'm concerned about...can the X be woken up by one of the front hard buttons? Without 3rd party app?

Would love to know please. If so I will place my pre-order today!

    Thanks in advance.

With my G1 just about every button will wake it up, but the power button is the only one that makes it sleep. All Android phones are the same, but practically all the new builds force you to slide your finger across to unlock it.

I think maybe with the 2.2 with exchange support or if this one has exchange support now, I don't remember. But with sense and exchange it makes you use a password to unlock phone.

I believe I've read from one of the sites that the home button would also wake the phone up.

    Nice Thread Topic Hijack ;p

The numerical lock pattern IS featured on the Droid X.
This is also an upcoming feature included in Froyo.
Every device with Froyo installed will have this.

Expect the Droid X to get Froyo, later this summer.

Not a long wait at all!

    Back to thread topic...
Its not a deal breaker for me if the only button that wakes the DX is the power/sleep button on top of the phone.
EdiT Update: Home button also confirmed to wake the screen.

Like posted before, it was said in a review that the HOME button also wakes up the phone, so no need for 3rd party software.
