Call me an idiot, but setting custom wallpapers with ease is a major part of the fun I have with my devices. It is a nightmare on this device because of the 2 overlays when cropping (portrait/landscape).

Its like impossible to use any photo!

My question is, is this different in ICS? I dont want to use "multi live wallpaper" app, i want to just select a photo and use it. If its too big it gets scaled down, if its too small it gets stretched. Leave it to me to make sure the size is right.

This is something i REALLY dont want to have to do, but would this work?

    http://www.rarst.net/images/android-tablet-wallpaper-size/android_wallpaper_template_1920x1408.png

According to that image it seems like if i make a new black canvas in photoshop and paste an 800x800 wallpaper photo right dead in the center, i should be able to then turn off "wallpaper scrolling" and all should be good, right?

this REALLY sucks if this is what i have to do. Setting custom wallpapers is actually a really big deal for me, i like to change them often

this guy posted one method he see's as working, i will try it shortly.

Set Wallpapers in Honeycomb without Cropping

he implies this is a Honeycomb issue, does anyone have experience with ICS to confirm this is no longer an issue?

    is it all black? LOL

Wallpapers are a huge part of what id like to do on my tablet, i need to find a way around this within my return window.

Id hate to think ill return this beast over something so simple and stupid, but i really just want freedom to do anything i want.

what widget is that you have on the left side of your screen? how did you get the app menu to the bottom rather than the top left?

The weather Widget is HD Widgets if I recall correctly.

The home launcher is ADW Launcher Ex. I have it set up when I scroll up in any screen, the app menu shows up. And with those image theres actually an app menu on the top left of the screen as well.

I recommend both apps, I got them both during the $.10 sale a couple of weeks ago.
