Just a stupid question...how in the world do I get into recovery? I want to backup the stock OS so I can play some with other ROMS, what tiny tiny few there are. We REALLY need more for this phone, btw. Anyway, what do I press? Power +vol? or -vol? Or hold or what? I don't wanna jack my phone up hitting the wrong combo if that's even possible.

Hold the volume buttons & power button, release the power button and you should have a menu for recovery. ( I read this somewhere, not tried it myself. )

Alrighty then...that worked getting me into the sub menu but when I tried to go to 'recovery', a triangle with the ! in the middle popped up....hmmm.....maybe I don't have CWM installed? Thought that installed when I rooted....who knows. This locked bootloader dance is a PITA....

At the triangle, press the volume up and volume down buttons together.
That will get you to the stock recovery, not sure if it also works for CWM (don't have that on my phone).

Well, I wiped my cache partition . On the sub menu, down vol chooses, up selects...thought that was the same on the recovery...found out otherwise...hope I didn't screw the pooch too badly....and btw, there is no backup choice so I'm lost.

There is Razr Bootstrap that lets you install CWM and boot into it. AFAIR I saw something about Razr being able to have CWM recovery as default after some mods.

So....which do to? Safestrap which protects the original system from harm or bootstrap here? And does Fastboot files protect the system now so Safestrap is unneeded?

I just use bootstrap. It lets me do backups and all. I do not need to know much more ;)
