Want to use wi-fi only on my xperia

Hi I am going to US for a week and wanted to take my Rogers locked phone and use it on Wi-fi only Can this be done

Try Menu>Settings>wireless & networks>mobile networks and uncheck mms & data.

Thanks Will this turn off phone calls because I do not want to use phone for incoming or outgoing calls? ( trying to avoid roaming charges)

You can also turn off Data Roaming in the same section, so it won't find a local carrier and connect your calls.

Put your phone in Airplane mode it kills all signal, with this app your able to use wifi only, at the touch of a button.

As far as I know, provided you don't dial into voicemail, you will NOT be charged.

I just went to Vegas from Toronto with mine.

I kept Data Roaming unchecked and Data Traffic checked.
incoming sms is free (even if you get a vmail notification msg)

Turn on wifi and you'll be good to go when you need to connect to wifi.

Don't forget, a lot of public wifi places like hotels make you open browser first to agree to there wifi network before apps like facebook and twitter will work.
