    Hi all,

I'm currently in the USA and my parents were vacationing in the UK this month and i had them pick up the S2 for me so i could save 100 euros on shipping it to the US!! So my question is once i get this phone in my hands next week, what is the warranty situation if anything goes wrong with the phone? Would i be able to mail it to O2 and have them send me another phone all the way to the US? My parents bought the phone at an O2 store unlocked and unbranded ofcourse.

Is there anyone else on this site based in the US who has imported this phone from the UK?

Our of curiosity who do you have to use as your carrier in the US? AT&T?

Anyway, I would use Squaretrade if I could not get a Carrier-Based Insurance program.

Yup, i'm currently on ATT. I sold my iphone 4 a month ago and got $800 for it, saved that for the purchase of this phone!! So i guess i'll go into ATT and see if they'll warranty this phone and i'm not expecting they will. So maybe you're right with square trade or maybe i should email O2 or something. I dont know what to do . I have to find someone in the US to cover me. Do you have this phone armageddonx?

I'm talking outside of the 1 year manufacturers warranty.

I do not have a S2, no. I'm still shopping around. I got stuck in the webOS hype in 2009 and have regretted it ever since. :(

Squaretrade offers 2-Year Warranties. Pretty good ones too. If you have no other choices and you *must* have insurance I would go with Squaretrade. If AT&T will insure your phone then do that, probably.

You think so? Why should I pick the S2 over the E3D?

Evo 3D is a bit of a gimmic. It says 3D and everyone's like WOAH!! When only the camera takes in 3D. Apparently the menus aren't even in 3D or anything. Plus it'll be unnecessarily chunky. And the S2 is the best phone in the market atm. :D

yea i second that its the best android phone on the market currently. I dont know why the evo went with only a 5mp cam. That seems very 2010 ish to me =p. Anyways yea and besides the camera and the 12mm thickness, both are very impressive phones i'd say but just depends on how long you want to wait, how much you want to pay and stuff like that. Personally the looks factor a lot for me so the Gs2 is up there for me.

My Palm Pre is close to dying. If I can wait until Sept I'll do the S2. If I can't I'll get the E3D. I think they're both pretty amazing smartphones.

    I posted this last night:
