Weather Channel app notifications

Is there a way too have the app only give me notifications referring to weather related events from my local region, not necessarily within my zip code, but a certain radius?

For instance, I'm on the west coast, but I just got a alert about a major traffic pileup in Wisconsin. This sort of notification commonly occurs. While I'm sympathetic, I have other sources to receive this type of news information.

With the app, it doesn't seem like there's a way to filter certain preferences, like it's all or nothing.

Make sure you are not using a VPN and location settings is on.
Also check your notifications within the app

i use 1weather mainly because they have a great clock/weather widget that is minimalistic and super easy to use.....not to mention that it will alert you for your specific locations and you can even pick a time for when you get notifications.

Check the notification settings within the app. I had a similar problem with accuweather and there is an option to turn off weather news (pileups hundreds of miles away from me) while leaving on Sever Weather alerts for things that may impact me in the immediate or near future.
