I'm a Dolphin fan.
PCWorld rated DolphinHD as the best browser for Android, I'd have to agree from my usage.
I _loved_ the features of Dolphin, but it was so slow compared to stock that I just gave up and went back.
Since then, I've started running the lagfix included with Cognition. Does anyone know if that makes a difference on Dolphin's performance?
i'd be keeping an eye out for Opera Mobile coming in a month +/-
seems like it will be worth a look
Does anyone ever have a problem with the stock browser crashing? Sometimes when I am on websites such as engadget or gizmodo the page will load and then shut down and re set my browser.
Yes I've had this happen before. It's very rare, I'd say only 3 times. I tried dolphin, I think it is a good browser, I just don't like how it looks. I'm waiting for firefox (fennec or whatever they call it) to be finished. I actually hope froyo has an improved browser; all it would need to make me happy are tabs at the top (like dolphin).
I tried Dolphin but it seemed much slower than the stock browser and I'm not willing to give up speed for features. The ONLY thing I don't like about the stock browser is how hard it is to get to other pages I have open. It's like two menus deep and then you get a list showing the first few letters of each title and you have to guess which is which.
Stock and Dolphin....I was using dolphin for a while, it is an amazing web browser, the easily changeable theme colors, little apps for it...the overall polished look. And 4.0 is supposed to be coming out, or beta, I can't remember which.
But I am on stock for one main reason...dolphin side bars are a bit intrusive when navigating a website, I go left or right and the bookmarks or apps come out instead of it scrolling to the side of the website I want to see. Other than that, dolphin is awesome!
I used opera mini on my Blackberries...haven't tried it on Android...wasn't that impressed.
Give xScope a look for raw speed. Trial version/pay-for, though.
