    Hello Everone,

Firstly, thank you very much for taking a look at my post. I really love android, but this is an issue that is starting to worry me.

Basically, since I got my new Android (Samsung Galaxy SII) phone, some of my contacts have disappeared from the phone's contact list, as well as Gmail contacts. What makes this strange is that when I then manually dial the number of one of these contacts, the phone will still show the name of the contact, although the contact is no-where to be found within my phonebook or Gmail contacts.

Does anyone have an ideas on how to solve this?

    Thank you very much :)
    Colin

One other thing that I forgot to mention, is that often a contact will show up for me under text messages, but that same contact won't be displayed within my contacts.

you probably have the contacts in your sim, and your settings in the contacts app is not to show sim contacts or similar

    open up your contacts list
menu>more>display options then check your "contacts to display" settings

I had a similar issue yesterday.

What I did read open contacts, and tap the sync icon. That seemed to sort it out.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the responses guys. You gave me an idea, it turns out that those contacts that were missing were, for some reason, not added to 'My Contacts' which meant that they were on the phone but not in any contact list.
