Help Weird graphics when selecting text in Gmail, Google Keep, Inbox or TED

Hi there,
in all other apps the usual blue raindrops are visible, but in most google products there is only this rectangularish thing showing when I select text. I am using Android 7.0 Build NRD90M.G930FXXU1DQEF.

Any help is highly appreciated,

I just tried in Gmail, Keep, UberSocial, Yahoo email, and Chrome. All of them responded as expected, with the "teardrop" you mentioned. If you change your language to English (which is what I'm using), does that make any difference? I've heard that different languages can react differently.

thanks for your support! Unfortunately changing the language to English (including a restart) hasn't stopped the teardrops from looking like bricks.
It's not only Google products. In TED in the search field it's the same error.
