I'm someone who doesn't care much for fireworks and animations. So, when I got my Samsung Vibrant, I went into Sound & Display settings and turned off ALL animations. My phone had been suffering from serious lag issues. It would take a good 3 seconds sometimes for it to load the Dialer app. Recently, I switched to LauncherPro, this didn't affect the lag that much, but it had a very small effect on it. However, I then TURNED ON ALL ANIMATIONS. The lag is practically gone. I don't know if the animations are masking the lag, but I don't see the same amount of lag anymore. Also, the lag that used to happen when leaving an app to go to the homescreen is gone. I'm not even using a task manager. The only thing I did do though is use the System Panel Lite app to kill the TouchWiz cache once, that's all, and the TouchWiz launcher hasn't show up again. So, here's what worked for me: - LauncherPro (5 homescreens, 5 widgets, lots of folders and icons). - Turn ON all animations (sound and display settings). Android 2.2 should be a lot faster than this. I can't wait for the update!
