Ok the problem im having is certain parts of my screen dont work but only in certain windows. the "clear" button on the pull down bar (showing ongoing stuff) doesnt work yet in any other window that area does. I cant tap on the first recent call or the 5th person on reason messages. i have to call someone else so they move to 2nd or text someone so they move to 6th. I cant tap the name section in edit contacts and if i turn the phone sideways i cant use "T" or "S". also some post buttons dont work such as Tweet and login buttons on my bank app and facebook app. but like i said its only in these windows that the screen doesnt work in that place other apps and screens funtion fine.

I just developed a similar problem, but its the same spot on the screen no matter what app is running. And it just happens to be the top right corner of the screen where the clear button is... I can pull down the notifications from that corner, but can't hit clear or any other button that falls in that spot.
For reference, I'm rooted running CM7.0.3. I tried reverting back to stock/rooted as well as the new update, and its the same on all three.

Hardware problem then. Can have the screen (digitizer) replaced or replace it yourself.
