I have an HTC Tattoo which I am happy with, except for its maddening habit of going dark in the middle of a call when I want to fumble for the numberpad. Yup! I am no geek. I joined this to find out how to open an emailed attachment which I can see sitting there when I sync with my Mac but which I can't read on the phone. Googling doesn't help so perhaps all you nice people can.

Going dark is supposed to happen. It's called a proximity sensor. If you want to change this function, you will have to disable the sensor.

    Welcome!
