    In exile
I could have sworn the "the evo prophet" swore there would be an ota when I turned on the phone.
    Well just turned it on.

Sigh, no update. Let us look at this track recond.

1.) ads on may 12 and april 13, not
    2.) june 6th, not
3.) over the air update, not
4.) massive amount of accessory, not
    5.)Early buy for bestbuy/shack, not.
6.)Pre launch for 4g areas not
    7.)Modded 2.1 not

I would give him the 199.99 but unfortunately he was not even close to the first person to say that. So far, nothing from April on has come true, his "source" lied to everyone.

    Did you HONESTLY expect this?

The only phone with Froyo(without root) is the Nexus One.

Even the Moto Droid(which runs 100% stock Android) hasn't gotten its upgrade to 2.2.

Did you seriously expect Froyo as an OTA on day one for your Evo?

I have an Incredible and I don't expect Froyo(due to Sense and Verizon approvals of code) for a month or two at the earliest.

That said, if you did buy an Evo, welcome to the Android club.

    The Pacific is Terrific
Why are we still talking about this person? I say we just forget about it and enjoy our Evos.

There was supposed to be an update, but only to fix the issues with the memory cards, and some security issues (which ends up blocking root access).

Part of me is a little happy I didn't get the phone in the morning, because if I saw an OTA update without reading the news first, I would have probably thought it was Froyo too. I would have been too excited to think clearly that it must be something else.
