I have ordered the Nexus 5 from the play store and hopefully it will arrive soon. I am on Sprint and have TEP on my HTC 4G LTE. I would assume Sprint will not issue TEP on the N5 that I want it protected. Also quite frankly the $11 a month and $150 deductable seems high. I was looking at "Protect your Bubble". Anyone have expierience with them?

    Thanks in advance,

You might want to check if you're already covered by your home contents insurance: in the UK, many policies cover cell phones.

Also, most economists would agree that mobile phone insurance is a poor buy.

Check out worthavegroup.com. I have a policy on my phone, as well as one for my ASUS Transformer tablet and my laptop. I've had to make a theft claim on the phone and it was handled fairly quickly and efficiently, and I had to send my tablet in for a repair on a cracked screen. That one took a couple weeks, but they did good work on the repair. My understanding is that they won't bother fixing anything more intensive than a cracked screen, and will just write you a check for the full retail value of the device instead.

I used Worth Ave, since it's only $50 + $50 deductible. All of the other options were over $100, which I couldn't justify for a $399 phone.

Just a hint: I'd buy the $499 policy (or whatever Tmo/Sprint are selling the Nexus for).. That way, if you ever have to replace it, they'll pay you the Tmo price but you can still buy it from Google, effectively waiving your deductible.

Good idea. It would be $8 more up front and I just don't expect to use it since I take care of my devices. Also I could still use the $399 check - $50 deductible to get the 16GB version :)

They don't cover theft. That's a dealbreaker for me.

Check out protectcell.com. It’s $70 for the whole year and $125 deductible. They actually have a bunch of different plans you can choose from to pick what you want to be covered for or not. I have not had any issues or complaints about them since I’ve started using their services.

They also have lots of 10-15% off promo codes... just do a search before you purchase. Current 15% off is "LikeUs" Just used it today. :D

Time to bump this up (plus I just got my renewal notice) with Holiday Shopping.

    Any better options out there?
