I changed to the old keyboard and then back to Swype and it didn't work. Is this because the beta is closed?

I'm trying really hard to understand the appeal of the Swype input method, however, I keep failing to see what the big fuss is. I type much faster with T9 (Phone pad) on HTC's keyboard. Someone help me out here. Post a video. SOMETHING.

I hear everyone talking about Swype, which isn’t even out yet when I’ve been using SlideIT for a while now and LOVE it. I’ve used the Swype beta and I gotta say, SlideIT just works better. Its dictionary is better, it’s word prediction is better and it’s way of choosing alternate words is better. Instead of forcing you to choose from a popup menu, it makes its best guess then gives you an unobtrusive menu of alternate words to choose from in case it got it wrong. Please, try SlideIT, it’s a superior keyboad and it’s already available.

Thanks for the info about SlideIt. I've been using Swype and have just installed SlideIt. I don't know yet whether it's better in day-to-day use, and I prefer Swype's ability to let you long-press symbols, but I *really* like that SlideIt has French available as an alternative language. I write in either English or French depending on the recipient, and neither Swype nor ShapeWriter have French support. Accents are added automatically while sliding, with multiple word choices when appropriate (e.g., r

easy way to get the accented letter is to move to ABC mode and tap the regular letter, you will get all the accented letters in the banner above the keyboard. for example press A and get
