Root What am I doing wrong?

Hi!
I just got an HTC Desire a month back and I wanted to root it because of the small internal memory so here's what I did.
1. I did the S-Off process.
2. I added a custom recovery, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35066436#post35066436
3. Then I rooted it with the file from Revolutionarys website.
Now the problem is when I check if I have A2SD support on my phone, it says that I dont have it :thinking: .
The program that I checked with is called "Quick System Info".
Also I read the Root Memory thread and did as it said.
I have an 2gb sd card which I made 2 partition from, one 890mb FAT32 and the rest EXT4.
Can anyone tell me what I did wrong and how to do it right?

Are you using a custom ROM?

Does your Rom support apps to SD? Some that do need to have it activated via terminal. A stock Rom that has been rooted won't support apps to SD.

Which Rom are you using?

You also need an ext partition before Quick System Info will show any a2sd space.

If you look in the Desire All Things Root Guide sticky post in this forum you'll find the "root memory faq". This will explain what is meant by "a2sd" on a rooted device and how you get it.

The normal a2sd is still available, but you gain a lot more with the root-only version using an extra partition on the sd card.

EDIT:
Can you guys recommend any ROMs that you know is good, i've looked and tried everything pretty much and I still cant get it to work.
I've used fastboot to flash my rooted phone to MildWild CM-5.8 and other versions but it doesn't go well.

Although I have not used your particular ROM the version of Oxygen that its based on certainly supports apps 2 SD without any additional activation or scripts so Mildwild should do the same. Did you use Gparted to partition?

The partitions need to be fat32 first then ext, both should be primary & swap zero.

I no longer use SD ext partitions but an alpharev custom hboot instead. However that method is a little riskier. I'm sure Hadron will be able to offer more help.

Fastboot to flash a ROM? You should install from recovery. Generically it's:

* back up user apps & data
* boot into recovery
* nandroid backup
* factory reset
* install ROM zip
* boot, set up, restore apps & data

Try the Oxygen derived version of MildWild. And what problems are you having?

Having re-read the above post I'm a little confused. The link you give is to Mildwild based on Oxygen but you you say that you have flashed Mildwild based on Cyanogenmod. It makes quite a difference.

Oxygen has apps 2 SD included & doesn't need it to activated.

Cyanogenmod requires the app "S2E" (Simple to SD) from Google Play to make apps 2 SD work. Here is a link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.krikun.s2e&hl=en

I hope that helps.
