Since all you are probably the same people that stood in line with me on 06/06/09 when the Palm Pre was released, I assume you're all wondering what to do with the device to offset the cost of the Evo. What do you all plan on doing with the pre, eBay? Give it to your spouse? Trade it in? Craigslist?

I'm going to take mine back for warranty replacement (since it has a myriad of problems that are worthy of a legitimate replacement) and activate my old Samsung A920 instead of the new pre (and since it will be my 4th replacement it will be a new one) until 6/4. Then take that phone and sell it on eBay like I've done every time a new phone came out.

Not sure yet. I'd like to sell it, but a family member has expressed interest in it, so I may just hand it over to them.

Either keep it as a spare phone or trade it in for the $63 Sprint is allegedly giving for it. This is my second and has a crack in the same place so even though it works fine, the cosmetic issue will make it hard to sell online. Don't feel like paying $100 to Asurion for a new one just to sell.

There is a good chance it will just be a spare so I can have some kind of smart phone if I break my Evo.

Keep in mind if you have a legitimate hardware issue that isn't accidental they will replace it in-store. As long as you haven't dropped it and scratched it to all hell....

my 15 yr old niece is probably gonna buy it from me for $50, but she has to either convince my sister to upgrade and pay for a data plan or pay the $20/mo difference herself and neither one of them is committing yet. If not, I'll sell it to Sprint.

It will go on my second line, that I use for work purposes so everyone doesnt have my personal #.

Besides I wanna keep it to see what advancements they do with WebOs.....damn shame that the PRE couldnt be what everyone thought it would be.

The problem is WebOS is great... the hardware was extremely disappointing... I wasn't happy that the phone was so small, especially since it was suppose to be an "iPhone killer." If thats the case, then MAKE IT THE SAME SIZE AS THE iPhone! ... Along with it being easily scratchable and also the loose slider issues...

No they won't. Same crack on the first one. They called it wear and tear/accidental damage. Essentially they blamed me for cracking it. I wasn't really that annoyed until I got a second one and then it cracked in the same place. At that point it was still working fine so I just said eff it and made plans to upgrade in June.

Yeah you're right about cracks... I had a scratch on the top of one of my phones once (I think it was the mogul) and the employee said "Look, see that scratch, you've dropped this and I can't take it) So I sent an e-mail to the CEO's office (Gary Forsee) and got a call back within a day and got a replacement.

It all depends on who you talk to and how you deal with it. I've been very lucky with getting replacements through warranty and not having to go through Assurion here in Southern California.

I sold mine a couple of months ago forseeing that the market would be flooded with them. I was right, sold mine for 225 and they are now going for 150 in my area. I would still craigslist it rather than selling it to the store tho. I also have a blackberry 8330 that i am selling to a friend for 30 because you have to charge it from a car charger and it refuses to usb sync. I figured i will sell it for what sprint will give me for it.

Ill end up putting it up on ebay.
Will sell it bundled with a touchstone charger, so hopefully it will still go for over $100.

I'm going to keep it and put it in the "community backup" that me and two of my friends have. We are hard on phones and all have sprint, so when one breaks, we just pick a phone out of there until the replacement comes in. I'm going to totally have to baby my EVO.

Yeah agreed... I wanted to buy a case and protector for my pre but got lazy... plus I was disappointed with the pre when I first saw it so I wasn't motivated to. Its helpful that RS is giving me the $20 to buy accessories... Guess I will buy the protector this time since I already have a car charger for micro-usb.

i am trying to get a replacement for my phone (power button problems, camera not working correct even though i doctored it twice), if i cant, ill sell it to best buy via their trade in program (i bought it from there so im good). supposedly i could get ~96 for my phone. good enough for me.

I'm giving mine to my brother. Though I wanted to sell it for the 60 something in the buy back that sprints offering. I've had 6 pre's! Can't wait to get my EVO!!!

I'm gonna try craigslist. If it sells for what I want then all is well but if not I'll go the bestbuy trade-in route.

Take it to best buy and trade it in for the $107 credit. No ebay/paypal hassle. And use that to buy an EVO from bb so I don't have to deal with sprint rebate.
