So obviously no one has a dam idea if and when ERIS 2.1 will be out, what I was wondering are you doing it manually or are you waiting for the update? I am torn on what to do

"I am torn on what to do."

Is there something wrong with the way your Eris is functioning now?

I installed 2.1v2. I like it, it's not the end all be all like everyone made it out to be; it's quicker but I don't believe it to be as reliable as 1.5

If I were in your position I would root the 1.5 firmware and try out some of the killer 2.1 ROMs the devs have been making.

I've read about many rumors that say there are a couple of phones getting the 2.1 OTA at the end of the month. However IT IS JUST A RUMOR, and it doesn't specifically mention the Eris. My speculation is that it definitely won't be out until after the HTC incredible is released.

It works fine, but it has its slowness, and like you I am not sure what to do, I am just seeing what everyone else is doing

i don't know about that. last time i checked the incredible wasn't even on the HTC website. It could be a while before it comes to verizon. even the EVO is on the sprint site and it isn't even available to sprint customers yet.

I don't know where you got the idea that I was not sure what to do; I have found 1.5 to be just fine in all respects and have even been attempting to find a way to reject the 2.1 OTA and its inevitable nags to update, when it comes.

I anticipate the OTA for others who want it so badly, not for myself; I am satisfied with my Eris as it is.

I'm sticking with 1.5. I'm looking forward to 2.1, but I don't need it; things are running just fine on 1.5.
