See my avatar.... that's my favorite past time, knee dragging. Second is home theater. Third is car audio. And forth is playing on my DX. I listed those by way of money spent on said hobby by the way. If I ranked them by time spent on them the DX would come in first right about now (with it being winter).

But as far as what I'd give up if I had to... first I'd part ways with my car audio equipment, then I'd ebay my home theater equipment, then I'd dump my phone.... and lastly I'd probably jump off a bridge if things got so bad I had to give up motorcycles! Oh I mean if it was a short term thing then ok. But if someone told me I would never be able to ride a motorcycle again..... man that would almost be like telling me one of my kids died or something! :(

I'm a huge fitness buff. I currently enjoy spin classes & working out w/ my PT. I'm trying to get into shape for a wedding I'm a bridesmaid for in May. Other than that, I collect Converse Chuck Taylors, fragrances, & anything penguin.

Travelling, writing, reading, sitting on the front porch on a warm Sunday evening with the wife, a bottle of wine and a handmade cigar.

I love to watch stuff on Hulu and Netflix... So TV and cinema. I also like to practice using my French at 2 French tables I attend. Tennis is major part of my life but right now due to the cold. When spring comes... Tennis everyday! Spending time with friends and my bf, like going out to eat, seeing performances at the Jacobs School of Music, and karaoke (I love to sing). Working out 5 days a week and studying 5 hours a week. :p

Good thing you washed the new boxers.

Everything new but the sox gets laundered. It has something to do with using the little hangers they come on in a special place in the closet.

    Oh well.

Like you, I have a few seasonal outdoor favorite things: bicycle riding (have to have it indoors on its special stand during winter, but that's better than not riding at all for several months every year) and skydiving.. no true indoor substitute for that. :D

I play chess in a club, like to go with my wife to plays down at the community playhouse and at the University theater, go to the semi-pro baseball games here in town, sip wine and watch comedies, read about history, astronomy.

You mean like that one Cheech rolled in 'Nice Dreams'? :D

I've been skydiving (tandum) twice. I must say that truly is the ultimate rush!!! And I love to play chess when I can find someone else that plays. But it seems this is a dying sport these days, unfortunately. :(

    Tandem, yuck. :D

Head back back and get in some static line jumps, then on to 12,000 foot free falls. Now we're talking rush. ;)

If you do love chess, I just did a search on "Vancouver B.C. chess" and found some big organizations up there in B.C. Some with tiered levels of play for fun as well as tourneys, etc.

Yeah I couldn't tell you how high we jumped from on my first tandum jump. Hell I was nervous enough as it was just being there, I didn't need to know the numbers. But I know the second time I did it our pilot was talking to us the whole way up. And he told us that they only pay him to take us up 12,000 feet, but that he likes to get up close to 15,000 feet to give us an extra special experience. My tandum master clocked our freefall right at 64 seconds... that was pretty awesome!!!

And while if I did it enough times I'm sure I'd get the confidence to do it on my own, I know the two times I have gone I was glad someone else was doing the manuvering. I still remember the first time I jumped, when we pulled the chut I looked out towards the airport where we were supposed to land, and it looked like it was 50 miles away! I thought, "good God, we over shot the airport"!!! I thought forsure we were going to land in some corn field somewhere and have to hike all the way back.

But since my tandum master knew the ropes, naturally he guided us straight back over to the airport. I realize once you know what you're doing it's no big thing. But I certainly wouldn't have known how to do it the 2 times I've been.

Told myself 4 things I would never let myself do:
    -sky diving
    -bungee jumping
    -hang gliding
    -crotch rockets

I know myself too well to know I'd die doing one of them.

Dirt bikes is my limit. Was only hurt once doing that and that was on a trail ride with kids, doing nothing. Never got hurt racing. Not even once!

The only thing I haven't done on your list is hang glide.

Golf, reading, writing, enjoying NYC when I can (which isn't often enough), spending time with the GF and our cats, and watching TV/movies. It's unfortunate how little time we seem to have for outside interests as we get older and get a job or more than one job.

Sometimes I wish I could go back and relive part of my youth to read up on and try some new things I think have passed me by like learning how to play guitar, learning a foreign language and practicing how to be cool...

    Geocaching

Long-distance rides on my cruiser (did a Saddle Sore 1000 ride last summer, doing a Saddle Sore 3000 this year; that's that many miles in less than 1 day and less than 3 days respectivly)

    Video games

    TV

Been a long time since I last went, but I do enjoy playing golf

Haha, man I think that's something either you're born with or you just don't have it. I've known guys who had absolutely nothing, not a dime to their name, that were the coolest guys to hang out with on the planet. Then I've known other guys who came from money, try to be like the cool guy that everyone would want to hang around... and they bored me stupid.

You can work on loosening up if you're uptight, or mellow out or something. But there is no book to study on being cool. Them dudes that have it... it's just fate.
