I get around 13 mpbs down and 6 up with metroPCS unlitimed 4G lte plan for $55
I'm not sure about that, I'm about 30 min away from Dallas and I sure don't get the speeds they're getting
Were both in Garland, along Broadway.
True True although I'm getting bad results today. highest was 3.7 down.
But for some reason metro has excellent 4g upload speed
Upload has same amount of capacity as download but upload is used much less than download
You are absolutely correct, but I am tired of seeing all these posts condescending Metropcs labeling it "ghetto" slow this slow that. Although I do actually get 7 to 8 mbs regularly on 4g now so that's great and its really unlimited. And I did a tethering test and I hit 14mbs max lol and actually downloaded something as well. Look at where metro came from, just like a year or two ago we didn't have anything, but now we are getting flagships, lte improvement and with really cheap and constant bills. I should of made another post, but I will just use this reply lol.
This is really not an area where you can do a straight comparison. Metro is nowhere in the same league as the big 3 and still they've come a long way.
I mean look at the big 3 anyways. Sprint is going to be owned by a Japanese company because they drove themselves into the ground. And ATT and Verizon are both monster monopolies who get away with anything they want, constantly and consistently change the system to benefit solely them and by being so ridiculously out of control easily have enough capital to put up a decently fast LTE network across the country.
For what Metro has had to play with and the constraints and odds against them I'm very impressed with what they've done.
Speak again bro lol I'm in Chicago also
I'm pulling 13 down 7 up consistent
No actually sprint didn't need to merge wit soft bank. It could've banked on network vision but sprint is finally thinking ahead and not just the here and now.
"Metro has slowest LTE speeds in US" In other news the sky is blue and water is wet. The speeds are more then fast enough for what I need, I'm happy.
Hopefully as the year progress and this "merge" falls into place, Metro's speeds will increase. I know T Mobile is making a lot of progress in making their speeds faster and focusing on Pre Paid plans more so than contract plans. Hopefully Metro will follow suit. I mean who doesn't want to get the most for their money? The market and carriers are the most competitive that they have ever been and WE, the customers, will only benefit from that. The many joys of pre paid
It could be just me, but dreaming about "what's Going to happen", now, is almost non-sensical.
Because Nothing's going to happen UNTIL the merger is approved. (Nothing that either individual company wasn't already going to do before the merger.)
And, there's that pesky shareholder suit to stop That from happening.

You get what you pay for.
$50.00 - slower speeds...
$100.00 - faster speeds!
Or $40 a month and faster speeds
(This was a joke. Just in case someone wants to tell me for the 100th time about how it's all about the coverage the user needs and what the user needs in a plan and that data speeds DONT mean anything that they are just numbers and blah blah blah) < Another joke. Ok I'm done.
True if you have a different prepaid carrier with faster speeds, I should of have put for metropcs.
With all due respect Fuzzmeister, Most users aren't going to be willing to follow the rules YOU have to with ST to save $10 a month. (Over the old $55 plan)

The fact that ST makes the above info VERY hard to find anywhere on their site and stresses most of their plans as unlimited data reeks strongly to me of poor bidness ethics. (Misrepresentation)

thats why you use simplemobile and pay 50 a month for truly unl everything with faster speeds fuzzy
I would but I've had no issues with unlimited data on ST. I'm not a heavy user, 5GB at the absolute most a month, so $40 is much better for me. $10 more a month isn't worth it for something I don't need. But it's great for those that do.
I know I was just messing.
I'll hide my response to keep from taking up a lot of space.
I don't follow any rules. I just use my phone, don't tether and steal and try to run my entire house off of $45 a month service. I wouldn't call those rules per say. :/ That's beside the point as my previous post was just messing around
The main point at hand.
It's always best to go by what "Actual" users that you know say instead of generally biased articles on the web.
"As ZDNet's Matthew Miller, GigaOm's Kevin Tofel and many people on Internet discussion forums report, Straight Talk's iPhone plan appears to have a soft cap of around 2GB per month, after which you begin to get harassing automated phone calls and then either get your speeds dramatically slowed, or your service cut off."
I consistently use 4Gb a month topping out at 5 sometimes and have never once got a phone call or text. The people that DO, are the people that are abusing the service. Don't let all that 2GB soft cap talk fool you. The people that complain are the ones that are using 1GB a day streaming and tethering and are on track to use 20Gb a month. Obviously this isn't allowed and yes Im sure ST will take appropriate measures to stop as it hurts EVERYONE. And then those people complain, Go figure. Just like Obama voters. <<<<Tried to sneak that in there.
WAIT!!!! Here's the funny part about that article and what they are bitching about.
They are changing the quoted part to go along with what they are bitching about.
Here's Straight Talk's acceptable uses: "Straight Talk Unlimited Talk, Text and Mobile Web Access Plans may ONLY be used with a Straight Talk handset for the following purposes: (i) Person to Person Voice Calls (ii) Text and Picture Messaging (iii) Internet browsing through the Straight Talk Mobile Web Service and (iv) Authorized Content Downloads from the Straight Talk Mobile Web Store."
What it really says
Straight Talk Unlimited Talk, Text and Mobile Web Access Plans may ONLY be used with a Straight Talk handset for the following purposes: (i) Person to Person Voice Calls (ii) Text and Picture Messaging and (iii) Internet browsing and ordinary content Downloads.
There's more too but Ill save the long ass post. Point is all these people complain because they are mooching the system and are getting caught. I personally know at least TEN people that use ST and use anywhere from 5-10Gb a MONTH and use the service like it's supposed to be used and dont tether or steal and they dont have any problems.
Don't believe everything you see. I read the same garbage online and I tried it for myself because I know how stupid people are and I couldn't be happier with $40 a month and unlimited everything. Worst case scenario they do cut me off, what am I out? Haha. Nothing. I call back up and sign right back up for another plan albeit with a different number but still. People are stupid, i hate them. They want shit for free and then complain about a company because they are stealing from them. Sound familiar? (Cough-Democrats-Cough)
I apologize for going off topic. Everything will be handled through Pm's from here on out as to stay on track.
I of all people should know not to believe everything I read on the innertubes.
Thanks for helping me understand Fuzzy.

Bruce, you and I are cut from the same cloth If you haven't noticed that already. I have a high respect for what you say and your opinions. Just know that
